Martin Pitt: thank you for looking at it. At this point I don't see a point of making this fix for Jaunty too when it hasn't gotten into Hardy or Intrepid. So, I will wait until the gstreamer people devise the "proper" solution to fix their code and backport to Jaunty whatever patch ensues from their decision.
