Well, Sebastien, excuse me but I don't think it's confusing description,
if you read it carefully you will find all the steps you need . Anyway:

- open volume control (right click on volume icon)
- open preferences windows (edit -> preferences)
- select "capture"
(The "recording" tab appears in the volume control windows with the capture 
control inside)
- close the volume control
- re-open the volume control
(I see in the recording tab, two controls: capture and capture 1 )
- open the preferences windows (edit -> preferences)
(you will see "capture" and "capture 1" selected)
- deselect "capture 1"
(the preferences window correctly shows "capture 1" deselected and, under the 
recording tab, you will only see capture 1)
- close volume control
- re-open volume control
(you will see no recording tab)
- open preferences windows (edit -> preferences)
(you will see "capture" and "capture 1" deselected)
