Thanks. That helps. I can now auto-login. I still think there are problems with the UI which make it confusing, at least:
- There is a blank option in the users list - When the entry given for auto-login user is rejected / not saved, there is no error message. Just "not working" / ignoring input is not a great way to tell the user that the option is invalid for some reason. - When the "include all users" option is toggled in the users tab, the option to "Apply user changes" is not offered, and the dropdown list is updated with the OPPOSITE behaviour from what was just chosen (ie selection of including all users or specifiying with a list) is applied to the drop-down list! -- Login Window Preferences fails to store "Enable Automatic Login" user https://launchpad.net/bugs/44029 -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
