So, The keys controls the gnome volume controler, so that's this which matters. Yes, that's it : the gnome volume controler don't change volume of rhythmbox and totem-gstreamer. Both have its own volume state, what's expected, but gnome volume controler don't change the low-level volume for these : It only does for gnome bip, welcome sound etc. I'm on a laptop with a sound card and a RTC modem, The sound card is SiS SI7012 and is alsa controled, and the modem is RealTech ALC250 and is oss-controled but I think this one doesn't matter.
