Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
After an upgrade from gnome-power-manager 2.24.0-0ubuntu8 to 2.24.0-0ubuntu8.1
brightness controls do not work anymore.
I've just done a clean install of ubuntu 8.10 and immediately updated it.
Rolling back to previous version fixes the problem.
