Hi, thanks for your report;  can you confirm that you're running the
latest dapper updates;  there was a fix that went into hal and gnome-
power-manager.

By doing the control-alt-backspace you're killing X and then killing the
'g-p-m' which is presumebly why this is then working for you.

If you've got the latest packages and updates and this is still showing
up, we'll undup it and try to debug it further.
