I am very happy to see improvements in the dual monitor settings in
ubuntu.
I have a laptop and an external full HD monitor, Ubuntu 8.10 which I am
able to make function after spending some time configuring the displays
(and rebooting). I am only able to make it work using Nvidia X Server
settings.
The problem is that when I open Preferences -> Screen Resolution, the external
display doesn't show.
I do press the "Detect Displays" button in the "Monitor Resolution Settings"
window, but NOTHING HAPPENS.
On the other hand, Nvidia X Server settings does refresh and shows both
screens.
