Ubuntu 8.10 AMD64 Gnome
In a save dialog go to the parent directory by clicking the button on
the location bar, then press save and you'll go back into the
subdirectory from which you came because it is selected. Clicking on an
empty area will not deselect the folder so instead you have to go
another step up and then go back into that folder.
If you you're saving an image in Firefox, then you're only taken back to
the folder you started in when clicking save, the save dialog isn't
closed. But when extracting a file in File Roller and doing the same it
extracts it to the subdirectory right away, so you think you're
extracting to the parent directory when in fact the file goes back to
where you started out.
