** Description changed: Hi, On my Jaunty (upgraded from intrepid) install on my ASUS m51sn laptop (3G model) there is a bug with the volume applet on the gnome- panel. Upon left-clicking the applet and changing volume the application crashes completely before any setting can take effect. The applet can not be closed by the usual methods. A logout and login makes the desktop return to normal however the applet still produces these same effects. I can also confirm the crash occurs when right-clicking the applet and - clicking to bring up the volume manager. - - Occasionally, this crash will cause the entire destop to become - unresponsive. The only way to fix this is by going to a tty and doing a - service gdm restart. + clicking to bring up the volume manager, this crash will cause the + entire destop to become unresponsive.
