Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gvfs
Current jaunty:
gvfs 1.0.2-0ubuntu1
nautilus 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1
To reproduce:
Insert a DVD into the DVD drive.
>From the menu at the top of the desktop screen, select "Places->CD-RW/DVD±RW
>Drive".
The following error dialog is shown:
Unable to scan CD-RW/DVD±RW Drive for media changes
Cannot invoke CheckForMedia on HAL: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied:
Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.24"
(uid=1000 pid=4145 comm="/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-hal-volume-monitor ")
interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Storage.Removable" member="CheckForMedia"
error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.Hal" (uid=0
pid=3432 comm="/usr/sbin/hald "))
I tried a different disk, and it worked okay. So possibly the problem
here is with the disk (maybe because it is a video DVD, not a data DVD).
But the error message is not very friendly.
** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
