Ubuntu 8.10
Whenever I do the following
* Boot w/o AC (i.e., on battery)
* log in
* start working (type a text)
after a while (<5 min), this happens:
- Screen is dimmed to min.
- Manually overriding w/ brightness keys does not work
(no response, brightness control thing doesn't appear on screen)
- after a while (1min), the brightness ``wakes up'' with a start.
- This repeats until I plug in AC.
Remarks:
* I've noticed that sometimes the gnome power manager
applet is not visible during the ``seizures''.
(Gnome Power Manager version: 2.24.0)
* It doesn't appear to happen when I boot with AC plugged in,
but it possibly also depends on other factors. However, the
above description reproduces the bug reliably.
** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
