Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This doesn't sound like a bug in Rhythmbox specifically
but somewhere else.
Audio hardware would be helpful to tell us. Personally, I would try
uninstalling pulseaudio first. (apt-get remove pulseaudio) and see if
that helps.
