Private bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
I just upgraded my desktop from Intrepid to Jaunty, and on the first reboot after upgrading, I get a black screen with a gtk dialog saying "The greeter application appears to be crashing. Using a different one." If I press OK there it apparently tries to start again but then the dialog comes back. /var/log/daemon contains Feb 19 18:12:22 grace gdm[7222]: Mount of private directory return code [0] Feb 19 18:13:57 grace gdm[4675]: Gtk-WARNING: Ignoring the separator setting Feb 19 18:14:07 grace gdm[4702]: Gtk-WARNING: Ignoring the separator setting Feb 19 18:14:13 grace gdm[4725]: Gtk-WARNING: Ignoring the separator setting Feb 19 18:14:26 grace gdm[4900]: Gtk-WARNING: Ignoring the separator setting Feb 19 18:14:48 grace gdm[4361]: WARNING: The display server has been shut down about 6 times in the last 90 seconds.
