Yes, the problem's still here. I really don't want to upgrade my Dell 1525n to a later Ubuntu release until Dell gets around to making its modifications -- I run into trouble even with 8.04 kernel upgrades -- and Dell has announced no plans. I do have an older linux on a dual-booting desktop. After tax-time is past, I'll look into upgrading that machine to whatever the bleeding edge Ubuntu is and report back to you.
