Here is how to produce the bug:
1) mute sound using applet (icon gets a barred red circle on top, the mute 
check box gets checked in the popup)
2) Open the Gnome Volume Control (no matter the way)
3) Unmute from the gnome-volume-control

Result: the applet icon in the tray adjusts to the unmutting (red circle
disapears), but not the checkbox in the "popup".  It seems like it could
remain like that indifinitely.  See screenshot in attachment.

Definitely not a major thing, very minor box.  I like the new look of
the applet popup otherwise.
