Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-applets
Until the upgrade to Intrepid middle-clicking the volume applet would
mute/unmute it. I know many
people who used this as their main method for quickly muting and unmuting audio
before answering a
phone call, getting up to use the restroom, or to quickly stop an annoying
sound that shouldn't be
played at work.
I understand there are users that may not want this, but I don't see why the
feature was removed without
a configurable option. Many people think this is a bug after they open the
applet preferences to see there
is no setting to enable the previous behaviour.
This is not a duplicate of #283003, because this feature existed before
Intrepid.
