You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Since the last Alpha release, every time I change the screen resolution
to anything other than 800x600, the screen resolution applet reports
that the refresh rate is 0Hz. When I click on Apply it does go to the
screen resolution that I have selected, but upon reboot it defaults back
to 800x600 @ 60Hz.
I am testing Jaunty in VMWare Workstation 6.5.1 build 126130
