This happens with me too, both on 32 and 64-bit machines. Even after doing a force-shutdown and restarting it doesn't fix the problem...sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, haven't quite figured out how to get it consistently back to normal behavior
I fixed it on one machine by deleting the account in evolution and clearing out everything with groupwise in the name in my ~/.evolution folder...
