Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
This bug occurs when the computer is idle and the screensaver has been
on or when returning from Suspend.
The screensaver is active and running, but when moving the mouse to
deactivate it, the mouse cursor appears frozen (Although I don't think
it actually is). The screensaver also will not deactivate for mouse
movement or keyboard presses.
However, when the Compiz cube is active, I can use the keyboard (and
mouse) to rotate the cube. Once I stop, the screensaver comes back to
the front (The screensaver does not freeze). When the the Compiz cube is
not active, there is no way to tell anything is happening or working at
all besides the screensaver.
I have found no way around it other than doing a hard reset.
*This bug is not the same as others where it won't accept people's
passwords. The screensaver never brings up the password box. The problem
is it never even knows to quit or deactivate at all.
ProblemType: Freeze
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 5
NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia
