Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
--System information: -- I'm on ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and have evolution version 2.24.1-0ubuntu2. --What should happen:-- Evolution should function smoothly, but it didn't. I think this can be solved by stating a correct maximum upper version in the dependencies of evolution. --What actually happened:-- Due to the fact that I had the jaunty repositories included, somehow some jaunty packages ended up on my system (my mistake). This caused evolution to malfunction. I had the following packages installed: libgtkhtml3.14-19 1:3.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 libgtkhtml-editor0 1:3.25.5-0ubuntu1 but these should be installed at the following versions: libgtkhtml3.14-19 1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 libgtkhtml-editor0 1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 At the previously installed versions, evolution would crash when opening the composer window. See the following bug report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=573628 . This is solved after downgrading. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dependencies should also state the upper version permissible. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340772 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
