Dear Chris, Thanks for your response! I guess NVidia and that kind of manufactrs will not be very impressed of my opinion about their protectionism! That's what you and I and thousands of people don't like.And that's why Linux-Ubuntu can't break through, I guess. But I can tell you, that, also without the right drivers until now, Ubuntu 8.10 is superior in speed and simplicity to all kinds of Linux-distro's and Windows versions which I experienced over the last 20 years! If the right drivers are there, than, I'm convinced of that, M.soft is OUT! And they know that for sure!
But for now I cannot promote Ubuntu to people who only know a little bit more than how to turn a computer on and off, if you feel what I mean. It would be nice if you lived at my dutch region so that we could talk a lot over the architeture, the ins and outs of a Linux system, in which I'm very interested, because I hate reading a lot of general stuff which is not direct to the points.
