You have been subscribed to a public bug: If my WLAN-Stick is pluged in and I want to login, the system crashes. I see the mouse cursor and I can move it, but nothing happens. I have to reset my computer. Sometimes I see instead a black screen. If I repeat the restart and login a few times the login work and I can use Ubuntu normaly. It works a few logins, but after a while I have the same problems. If I unplug the Stick, every login works normaly and I can use everything normaly. When I plug the Stick after the login. I can futher use everything. The system only crashes, when the WLAN Stick is pluged at the beginning.
