Public bug reported: The Ubuntu version of OpenOffice.org Impress uses gstreamer to play audio files embedded in presentations. In most of these audio files (but not all), the sound is intermittent, something like the insertion of about 500ms bits of silence at each 1s of playing audio. The result is an awful sound being played. Uninstalling the gst-plugins-ugly and installing the gst-plugins-ugly-multiverse apparently solves the problem, but it implies in the missing of some functionality (some codecs not being played). This is happening for the 0.10.9 and 0.10.9-1 versions of gst-plugins-ugly in an updated intrepid machine.
