Please answer these questions: > > * Is this reproducible? Yes. > * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? 1. Insert USB stick and let it auto mount 2. Transfer some files 3. Erase some files from the USB stick 4. Using Nautilus, click on the unmount icon next to the left pane indicator for the mounted USB stick 5. When prompted "Do you wish to empty the trash?" click OK 6. Watch while all the files in /home/user are erased. Additional steps ;-) 7. Restore from backup 8. Repeat 1 - 6 db P.S. I wanted to see if I could duplicate this problem with another brand of USB stick. The one I used was an Imation 2G stick purchased December 2007. Unfortunately my other USB stick has chosen not to reveal its location at the present time. When (or if) I find the little devil, I will create another use account (don't want to lose files a THIRD time!!!) and attempt to replicate the problem. Also, I will try to reformat the Imation USB stick that I have thinking that might be the issue. > > This will help us to find and resolve the problem. > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) > Importance: Undecided => Medium > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) > Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) > -- Nautilus file browser erases files in /home/xxx when emptying trash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
