You could say the update from GNOME Terminal 2.24 to 2.26 doesn't bring in anything useful to users (I didn't notice any change, except for having window size presets in the menu), but which version is shipped in Jaunty? 2.26.
Also, GDM 2.26 isn't shipped in Universe, as you said it would be. Too late for Jaunty, though.
