There's nothing that gnome-media can do about this. The other capplet is
part of gnome-control-center. The only way around it would be to split
the old capplet away from gnome-control-center in to its own package,
but it's probably a bit late in the cycle for making changes like that.
You could just edit the menu to hide the icon for the old capplet
