Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-control-pulse

Hello,

I just installed Intrepid on my system.
Setup is as follows:
Ubuntu 32bit 8.10, 4gb Ram, linux-server kernel image 2.6.27.11 (because of PAE
support to see all RAM).
Partitions are like this:
3aware hardware RAID card - 2 x HDD 1 TB (RAID-1 hardware); LVM on top of this
for snapshot functionality
Partitions:
/boot
LVM:
/ - reiserfs
/home - xfs
/storage - xfs
swap

Sound card is an old Audigy 1.
Output is analog (although there is also a plug for digital).

By default the volume control shows:
Mic Boost (+20DB) - off
Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack - on

I change Mic Boost to on and Audigy Analog.. to off (otherwise I have no
sound).

Now if I reboot the settings are changed back to what they were before.
Seems that no matter what I input there, it doesn't stay with me after the
restart.

Can you help ?
On a quick search I saw no similar bug already opened..correct me if I was
wrong and sorry for the trouble.

Thanks,
Mihai
