I just installed Ubuntu 9.04
When I go to "Places" and "Connect to server" I choose "Windows Share" and I
enter my local server address: "192.168.1.1"
After few seconds I get a screen that says:
Cannot display location "smb://192.168.1.1/"
No application is registered as handling this file
I don't think there is anything wrong with my local server since my XP, Vista
and Macintosh machines have no problem connecting to it.
smb connection is the only one that has issues. When I use "connect to
server" and choose ftp connection, it works fine.
