Public bug reported:
In all Ubuntu versions from 7.04 through 8.10, adjusting brightness on
the Sony VGN-S480 has worked out of the box. In the latest beta of
9.04, it does not work at all.
The hotkeys seem to be functioning, but the brightness of the screen is
not adjusted. The same is true when the brightness is adjusted via the
gnome-panel brightness applet.
I've attached some logs that may be useful - let me know if I've missed
anything.
