I am thinking about this option for some time now. I don't know about
any OS or application that does my ideas and I think it will really
improve the interface with the files.

Many times, I find my self saving a file for future use or for later
email sending and such. Also, many times find my self staring at a
folder full of article and I can't remember why I saved all those
papers. Now, in real life, we add a note to the file and in this note we
write down some data ("mail Johny", "read for next class", etc). The
note feature exist (at list in GNOME it is but it is only a tab at the
properties dialog.

What I wish for is the notes to appear when mouse hover over the file, I
think the notes can also include a better preview of the files (the
about part in the case of an application, a larger icon in the case of
an image, the first few lines in the case of a document etc)

Thanks.
