Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Default threshold percentages for gnome-power-manager are set too low:
I am using a fairly new computer with a healthy battery (97%).
It reaches the default critical state of 3% and shows the notification
properly, but it will die due to low power before the default 2% action
level is reached (stays at 2.2% for a considerable time).
I've modified threshold to 3% for action and this enables computer to
shutdown nicely.
***Default setting should not make an average computer crash and lose
data.***
Please consider re-evaluation of these default values. Or enable more
accurate reading of percentage until death.
I am using a Dell XPS 1530 laptop.
gpm uses percentage for policy even though time options is checked in gconf
(why I have no idea...).
