Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Could you
describe your issue? "plain greeter seriously messed up" is not really
an useful description, plain greeter without logo looks fine to
"gdmflexiserver --xnest" on my dapper installation. Maybe you could do a
screenshot of the issue?
