So we don't know how the .dmrc was created / put in this state, but clearly:
- gdm shouldn't use default.desktop in the default config (but default)
- gdm should strip .desktop even for DefaultSession, not only for user defined
sessions
- notify-osd should workaround this issue by stripping .desktop (what I
uploaded)
