Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

I have my system configured with Spanish locales and I'm unable to start
xchat-gnome, when I have the variable LANG=es_ES.UTF-8 I get this error:

$ xchat-gnome 
XChat CRITICAL *** default event text failed to build!
Cancelado

In this way it works:

$ LANG=C xchat-gnome

I'm Using Ubuntu 8.10 on AMD64, the version of xchat-gnome is 0.24.1
