Ubuntu 8.10 sound preferneces
I have found what seems to be a bug in the sound preferences system >
preferences > sound > sound (tab). There are buttons that are beside the
system sounds to play them, pushing the button once works fine however
if the button is pressed multiple times the sound plays over itself (i.e
the sound keeps playing while it starts playing again). This in itself
isn't the issue if only pressed a couple of times but if clicked rapidly
for about 20 times in succession the sound gets caught in a loop and
doesn't finish. I had it running for about half an hour - much longer
than the sound I used would take to play 20 times on end. A good sound
to test this with is the logon sound as it is slightly longer than most
of the other sounds.
Please forgive me if I have missed any of the formalities of reporting a
bug, this is my first and I am pretty new to linux in general. I did try
to figure what package was the problem, I think it is gnome-sound but
I'm not so sure.
