Dmitriy, I'm not sure if this is the same bug. My brightness goes down,
but the meter level is not the same as my hardware level. The meter
should be going down by about 15% each time I lower the brightness
level, but it goes down much less than that (and decreases by a smaller
amount each time I lower the brightness).

I'm using kernel 2.6.30rc3 right now for bugfixes related to my Intel
chipset, but it has no effect on the brightness indicator behavior.
Using dbus-monitor (dbus-monitor --session
"type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Backlight'")
shows that DBUS is receiving a signal and then decreasing the backlight
by 4% (even though it actually goes down 15%). After reaching a point
(I think around 50%?) it starts going down by 2% (even though by this
point I have already reached minimum brightness).
