Public bug reported:
Logging into an Ubuntu session, gnomes panels would be working as
expected (one on top, one on bottom). Switching to workspace 2, 3, or 4
would make the top panel only go invisible. Switching back to Workspace
1 makes it appear again.
This is occurred on my roommate's HP Pavillion dv6000 on a fresh install
of Jaunty 9.04.
(Solution: Delete the panel and create a new one, and add the applets
again. Now works as intended, but didn't work out-of-the-box).
