I have also noticed this behaviour in the official Jaunty release (not beta).
Steps to reproduce: 1) System -> Preferences -> Screensaver 2) Regard computer as idle after 1 minute 3) Activate screensaver when computer is idle 4) Choose "Blank Screen" screensaver 5) Close, and leave the computer alone for 1 minute Behaviour: After 1 minute, the screen fades. Once fully faded, the desktop comes back, as if "something" is waking it up. I have unplugged all input devices (keyboard, mouse, USB wireless card). Expected behaviour: Screensaver should activate until human returns and engages the computer again. After a log off and log on, the screen saver works (for a while). Differential cause still unknown. -- gnome-screensaver does not blank screen in Jaunty beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/361799 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
