** Description changed:
Binary package hint: totem
Totem-gstreamer works fine with many videos formats on Ubuntu 8.10 but
systematically crashes when updating the version to 9.04. When running
it from command line, I got the following error:
jer...@jerome-laptop:~$ totem
/var/lib/python-support/python2.6/gdata/tlslite/utils/cryptomath.py:9:
DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead
import sha
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 115 error_code 11 request_code 132 minor_code 19)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Is this related with Compiz ? Is there any changes sinc Ubuntu 8.10 ?
Thank you.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/totem-gstreamer
Package: totem-gstreamer 2.26.1-0ubuntu5
ProcEnviron:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: totem
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686
+
+ ADD-ON:
+ A (convenient ???) way to get TOTEM working is to run in command line
"gstreamer-properties" and then change "Video caption"-"Default Output Plugin"
to "X Window System (No Xv)"...
