Binary package hint: nautilus
OK, this is the 3rd time I've tried reporting this ... the system is
almost unusable :-(
if I try to start nautilus, nothing happens for a long time, then a
non-responsive nautilus window opens
"killall nautilus" does nothing
"kill -9 <nautilus-psid>" does stop it
(or if it hasn't punked all the other windows, sometimes it does, sometimes it
doesn't, you can do <alt-f2> and run xkill)
when nautilus dies, the gnome-panel also freezes
"killall gnome-panel" does start a new process, and after 5 minutes I have seen
the panels actually come back (5 minutes after that deskbar-applet was
available in the panel too)
the second time I tried reporting this bug, I tried uploading a file containing:
nautilus.fail/dmesg.log
nautilus.fail/lspci-vnvn.log
nautilus.fail/uname-a.log
nautilus.fail/version.log
but firefox hung (I suppose it is related)
here is the uname info:
