Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.04 has made all sound problems far worse for me.

In ubuntu 8.10 there was an ever increasing delay when using the default
microphone port on my soundcard when talking on skype (configured to use
"pulse" as input device). The longest delay I measured was over 30
seconds. As a workaround I bought a Logitech Quickcam E3500 where the
microphone works well and without delay.

In Ubuntu 9.04 the soundcard microphone port won't work at all, and the
webcam has stopped working as well (only the microphone though).

I have an Asus Striker Extreme Mainboard and use the default realtec
soundcard that comes with it. My parents computer, which also uses an
Asus mainboard, has the exact same problem.

To me this is simply unacceptable and I am seriously considering
switching distribution over this. I realize that you owe me nothing and
I should be grateful to get a full-fledged OS for free, but I hope that
you also realize that this is a pretty severe issue.
