I expect the game Chess to start when I click on it in the menu Applications
--> Games --> Chess

The game shows a "button?" (whats the name of the field in the bottom panel
representing a running program on the desktop?) in the bottom panel telling me
Chess is starting. After 5 to 10 seconds the button goes away and chess does
not start.
Next output what happened when I tried to start it from terminal:
