I have the same problem with evolution with one particular address: Mike Harris <[email protected]>.
I found that when I type "mharr" and get the autocompletion suggestions, there are two (because I have 2 different email addresses for this person). If I hit the down arrow to select the email address I want, and then hit enter, the email address is correctly entered.
