Public bug reported:

I use KDE, but I have also ubuntu-desktop installed.
Since upgrading to 9.04 following problem occurs:
Some gtk applications generate sound events.
E.g. in firefox I choose: "Save page as", then the dialog window
is displayed. I click on "Cancel" and a sound is played.
So I want to disable these sounds which also occur in other gtk applications
like eclipse.
For this I logged on Gnome and in "Sound preferences" I disabled
the "play alerts and sound effects" option (see attachment).

But it didn't help and the event sounds are still on.

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
