On my Dell Vostro A90 (business version of Mini 9), cpufreq-applet
doesn't hold what I set it to for very long. This only happens when I
first set the frequency after a reboot, subsequent changes are fine.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Find a Dell Vostro A90
2. Boot it up and log in
3. Change the frequency in the cpufreq-applet (try 800 MHz)
4. Start an application like OpenOffice or Firefox. The cpufreq-applet should
have changed back to the ondemand governor.
I had expected the setting to stay, but it did not. Note that you can
set it back to 800 MHz and it will stay there.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 with Ubuntu Netbook Remix installed. I have two
cpufreq-applets installed in my panel, because the Atom N270 has Hyper-
Threading support.
