Hi again - and thanks for getting back :) I do not use desktop effects as these have been deactivated since Jaunty and cannot be reactivated, probably due to graphics issues. The error occurs when one of the windows is set to be always on top. Start up 2 windows (e.g. Nautilus). Then start up Rythmbox and minimize to tray. Test: Maximizing Rythmbox works. Set first window to be always on top. Test: Rythmbox maximizes correctly behind the"always-on-top" window. Then minimize RB. Bring second window into foreground. Test: Rythmbox will now stay behind the first AND the second window, instead of maximizing behind the first always-on-top window. As soon as first window is no longer alway-on-top, the error disappears. I guess this error is introduced by the new GNOME desktop functionalities.
