Why do you like to have a CUE file? brasero seems to call "cdrdao" and cdrdao is known for not correctly supporting CUE files.
cdrtools on the other side do support CUE files but they do not create them..... cdda2wav creates *.inf files that are better suited for cdrecord. Note in any case that the fork "cdrkit/wodim" does not correctly support CUE files and needs to be avoided.
