I specifically disabled the warning for non-system drives since many users cried out loudly that this was too annoying. The idea of this warning is to give a hint why your system is suddenly acting strange, which happens on a full root partition. This can't happen on removable drives, though.
I think the current solution is reasonable, therefore I'm closing this bug.
