Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

My Rythmbox started failing to play any media files recently. Totem has
the same problem right now too, but vlc still works fine. In Rythmbox,
when I click to play a file, the error icon apears and it skips to the
next file(for which the same thing occurs until It's cycled to the
bottom of my library) an error message comes up which says: [Failed to
connect stream: Invalid argument]. In the Import error section, there
are a lot of files which say that the MIME file could not be identified,
but I don't know if that's relevant because I believe there were always
examples of files like this even when rhythmbox was working for me.

I don't know what's going on or what I've done, but I'm clear out of
ideas. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I am using Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04), and Rhythmbox 0.11.5.
