The process gconfd-2 is causing the cpu to work overtime. With gconfd-2
the computer idles at 65% cpu usage with nothing but system monitor
open. Stopping process gconfd-2 causes idle to drop to 8%. There is
something very wrong here and it is dangerous to hardware as it causes
intense heat.
